Answers
Everything people ask before booking
If the answer you need is not here, call and ask. Nobody will pressure you into booking.
Do you accept my insurance?
The practice is in-network with Cigna (New Jersey), Aetna (New Jersey), Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, and Carelon Behavioral Health. Self-pay clients are welcome as well. If your plan is not listed, call (609) 400-4962 and we will check your benefits with you before you book.
How do telehealth appointments work?
Every visit happens over secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You receive a private link before your appointment and join from a quiet, private space on a phone, tablet, or computer. There is no app to download, no waiting room, and no commute.
Who do you treat?
Adolescents aged 13 and older, and adults, who are physically located in New Jersey at the time of the appointment. Care covers psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, or medication and therapy together.
What happens at the first appointment?
The first visit is a comprehensive evaluation of about 60 minutes. You will have time to talk through your history, what is happening now, and what you want to be different. Nothing is rushed. Before the session ends, you and Nancy agree on a treatment plan together.
Can you prescribe and refill medication?
Yes. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Nancy evaluates, prescribes, and manages psychiatric medication. Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose, and refills are handled between follow-up visits.
Do I have to choose between therapy and medication?
No. Some people come for medication management, some for psychotherapy, and many for both. Because Nancy provides both, you are not handed between providers, and the plan can change as you do.
How soon can I be seen?
Availability changes week to week. Request an appointment online or call (609) 400-4962 and we will tell you the next open time honestly rather than putting you on an indefinite waitlist.
Is my teenager a good fit for telehealth?
Many adolescents find it easier to talk from their own room than from an unfamiliar office. Care is available from age 13. A parent or guardian is involved in the first appointment and in consent, and we will discuss together how much of the ongoing work is private to your teen.
Do you provide emergency or crisis care?
No. This practice does not provide emergency services and does not monitor messages around the clock. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Is my information private?
Yes. Sessions run on HIPAA-compliant video and clinical records are protected under federal privacy law. Please note that the contact form on this website is not a secure channel, so do not include medical details in it. Use it to ask for a call back, and share clinical information in your appointment or through the intake form.
What if I have never seen a psychiatric provider before?
That is common and it is fine. You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or the right vocabulary to start. Come as you are and describe what has been happening in your own words.
What do you charge if I am paying out of pocket?
Self-pay is welcome. Contact the practice at (609) 400-4962 for current rates and payment policies before your first appointment, so there are no surprises.
